State lawmakers impact just about every aspect of our daily lives. From our schools and roads to our water and health care, nearly everything in Arizona is shaped in part by the state legislature – and the Governor’s office!

Working together, these two governing bodies can be an absolute force for positive change, and I’ve said from Day One that I will work with anyone to make our state a better place for all Arizonans. Unfortunately, the extreme Republicans who hold a narrow 1-seat majority in both the State House and State Senate don’t seem as dedicated to building the inclusive Arizona I promised to lead.

That’s exactly why I’ve been vetoing their extreme, out-of-touch bills because they do nothing to address the issues Arizonans are facing. Instead, they’re targeting the LGBTQ+ community, our voting rights, our reproductive freedoms, and even our classrooms.

So, we’ve got to work together to turn our state legislature from the political playhouse it currently is into a driving force for progress.

Nearly 10 years ago as a state legislator, I co-founded the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee with the mission of winning a Democratic majority in the state legislature. Now that we’re just 1-seat short of a majority in both chambers, I’m confident flipping them both blue is absolutely within reach in 2024 if we have committed grassroots supporters like you on our team.
