The election for Wisconsin's next Supreme Court judge is fast approaching!

Knowing where the candidates land on important issues is a vital part of making an informed decision. That's why our ACLU of Wisconsin team has been working on an educational mail campaign, producing a series of mail pieces that lay out the candidates' positions on key issues.

You can view our voter guide and further voting information on our website. Here are a few helpful things to keep in mind.

If you have an absentee ballot, return it ASAP – If you have an absentee ballot, follow the instructions provided to fill it out properly. Remember that you need a witness! The witness must watch you complete the ballot, you and your witness must sign the envelope, and your witness must write their full address on it.

We recommend mailing your ballot back no later than seven days before Election Day to make sure it arrives on time to be counted. You can also hand-deliver your absentee ballot to your clerk's office, polling place, or central count location if your community uses one. You must return it by 8 p.m., Election Day.

Voters with disabilities can have someone help them return their ballot. Contact the Disability Rights Wisconsin Voter Hotline at 844-347-8683 or email [email protected] for more information.

You can vote early in many municipalities – If you want to vote in-person and don't want to wait for Election Day, you can vote early in several places throughout Wisconsin. In some cities, like Milwaukee, the early voting period has already started, but rules, dates, and deadlines can vary depending on where you live. And when you show up to the polls – whether to vote early or on April 4 – make sure you bring your ID!
