John, we're emailing you from Capitol Hill with an important
request.
Here’s what you need to know: Yesterday, Empathy Network leaders, members
of our Business Council, scholarship and cohort alums, and community
partners from across the country flew to Washington, DC. Today, we're
meeting with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, urging them
to come together and make progress on criminal justice reform, green
economic growth, and investments in a high-tech future that doesn't leave
anyone behind.

Why it matters: America's prisons are a disgrace, disasters ravage our
cities brought on by climate change, and lack of opportunity is holding
too many back from reaching their greatest potential. That’s why we are
dreaming big to fix these issues with the Dream Policy Platform. This
comprehensive suite of policies lays out solutions that Congress can unite
on this year.
Congresses support and passage of the Dream Policy Platform would:
* Advance criminal justice reform by supporting the EQUAL Act
* Address the climate crisis by ensuring that at least 40% of qualified
Inflation Reduction Act programs go towards disadvantaged communities
and are contracted to at least 15% of minority-owned businesses.
* Invest in a high-tech future by broadening access to STEM education
and capital for minority-owned businesses.
