Dear John,
Today marks the 13th anniversary of the signing of a landmark piece of healthcare legislation, the Affordable Care Act.
In 2010, I decided to support this healthcare reform legislation because it represented an historic opportunity to make healthcare more accessible and affordable. I based this decision on what I believed was in the best interest for Georgia’s Second Congressional District and our country, both in the short and long-term.
I plan to build on the progress we've made while continuing to expand access to affordable healthcare for all Americans. If you agree, will you show your solidarity by supporting my campaign with a contribution?
With the enactment of the Affordable Care Act, just in my district, there were thousands of people who gained health coverage, thousands of people with pre-existing conditions who could no longer be denied affordable health insurance, thousands of small business owners who were now eligible for tax credits to help employees with health insurance, and thousands of senior citizens who benefited from a stronger Medicare.
For these people and for the millions of Americans like them, I supported the Affordable Care Act.
I believe that we have a moral obligation to ensure that all Americans, regardless of race, ethnicity, geography, or income, receive the healthcare they need to lead healthy and productive lives.
Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, I’ve used my time in office to advocate for support of healthcare facilities and their staff, expand rural healthcare, and make our communities healthier. We’ve got a ways to go still, and I need to know you’re with me. Will you let me know you stand with me for a better healthcare system by supporting my campaign today?
Thank you,
Congressman Sanford Bishop
