Event on the Impact of Safe Streets Baltimore, the City’s Community Violence Intervention Program
On Thursday, March 30, at 4 p.m. ET, the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions will hold an event to discuss a new evaluation estimating the effects of Safe Streets Baltimore, the city’s community violence intervention program, on gun violence, and discuss what is needed to continue and strengthen the program’s impacts. The event will be hosted by Daniel Webster, ScD, MPH, Distinguished Research Scholar at the Center.

At the event, Dr. Webster will present the research and findings, followed by a panel discussion with representatives from the Baltimore Mayor’s Office for Neighborhood Safety; LifeBridge Health and Catholic Charities of Baltimore, two community-based organizations contracted by the city to run the program; a Safe Streets site director and a violence interrupter; and Carla Tilchin, a co-author of the study and PhD candidate at the Center.
