Dear John,

Ramadan Mubarak! I hope that the following weeks are full of blessings for you and your family. As we begin another month of fasting and step back to take a much-needed spiritual retreat, I want to inform you of an exciting development at MPAC— and convey how essential your continued support is.

Ramadan provides a unique opportunity for us as Muslims to deepen our commitment to serving others. During this month, we fast from dawn until dusk, and we dedicate ourselves to acts of charity and good works. At MPAC, we strive to live out these values year-round, by advocating for policies that promote justice, fairness, and inclusion. We work to counter hate and bigotry, to amplify the voices and stories of Muslims, and to build bridges of understanding between different faiths and cultures.

But we cannot do this work alone. As a nonprofit organization, we depend on the support of people like you to continue our important mission. Your donation will help us to:

  • Advocate for policies that protect the civil rights and liberties of American Muslims– and all Americans
  • Foster interfaith and intercultural understanding and cooperation
  • Provide training and opportunities to American Muslim youth building careers in Hollywood and Washington
  • Counter hate-speech and extremism in all its forms

Support MPAC during this month of reflection, spiritual renewal, and generosity.

One of the most exciting changes that 2023 has brought is the launch of the MPAC Research Bureau. Headed up by physician and Harvard PhD Candidate, Dr. Javad Hashmi, the MPAC Research Bureau works to better the conversation around what it means to be Muslim in America. Through his expertise in Islamic Studies — Dr. Hashmi takes a look at many of the debated views both outside and inside our communities to highlight the diversity of thought and practice in our faith and work against Islamophobic narratives.

Your support during Ramadan is critical. During this month of reflection and charity, please consider a gift to MPAC as part of your zakat, and join us in working towards a society that reflects our shared values of justice and compassion.

Thank you for your continued support.

In Service,

Salam Al-Marayati
