Friend, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to claim your Blue Ohio Membership so we can win this race and defend our Democratic majority. But first, give me a minute to explain what this membership means – and why receiving your support today is so important. 

I grew up in a community of ironworkers, carpenters, autoworkers and other working class folks. When I was a kid, those were jobs you could depend on to build a good life for you and your family. But as I grew up, I watched jobs get shipped overseas, health care costs skyrocket, and wages and benefits fail to keep up with the times. Suddenly, one job wasn't enough.

That's why I'm running for reelection – because when you love this country, you fight for the people that make it work. No matter who you are, where you live or what kind of work you do, I will fight for you. But I need your help.

Right now, experts are calling my race a toss-up and the only way we can keep up our fight in the Senate is by building the strongest grassroots team Ohio has ever seen. I'll be blunt: With CNN calling me one of the most vulnerable senators in the country, we're going to need an unprecedented amount of grassroots support to defend this seat. Ohio's last race cost more than $200 million – and NBC News predicts our race could cost even more.
