Dear Friend,
World Water Day 2023 asks people to “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Your support allows
Waterkeeper Alliance to advance its mission to protect everyone’s right to clean water. Water supports all aspects of life on Earth. It is the fundamental underpinning for all of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
Waterkeeper Alliance is committed to the UN SDGs – particularly SDG 6 and SDG 13 – through direct advocacy and by supporting and leveraging the collective knowledge, expertise, and experience of more than 300 Waterkeeper groups in 47 countries on six continents.
As change accelerators, Waterkeeper Alliance and members of its global movement proactively engage with UN-Water and other stakeholders to strengthen international agreements; share valuable grassroots expertise and scientific knowledge; inform governments of community needs and impacts; and identify “on the ground” realities of policy decisions while advancing local action to create global impact.
Today, I am at the UN Water Conference speaking on a panel session titled, "A New Era in Water Intelligence Driving Collective Action" and fulfilling our commitment to empower communities and spur governmental action to stop and clean up PFAS pollution. Waterkeeper groups are boots-on-the-ground advocates who live and work in impacted communities, which means that we are uniquely positioned to help bridge data gaps and work with key stakeholders to provide a more complete picture of the health of local water resources. The public deserves transparency in response to threats from climate change, PFAS pollution, and hazardous accidents such as the recent East Palestine, Ohio train derailment.
Thank you for your support! Please donate today!
To clean water,
Marc Yaggi
Chief Executive Officer
