Friend,
On Monday, the United Nations released a distressing report on the rate of climate change. The key takeaway is without swift action, the world will cross the threshold of catastrophic warming in the next ten years — leading to the loss of millions of lives due to climate disasters.
Reports like these are terrifying — but we can't let that fear paralyze us.
In Congress, I was Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Environment. I oversaw bills related to climate change, environmental protections, endangered species, clean air and water, energy policy, and more. One of my proudest achievements was creating a framework for climate action that I could pass on to the Biden Administration.
I know this issue inside and out. And while the Democrats have passed great legislation to begin to tackle these challenges, there's still so much to be done.
In Congress, I'll be on the frontlines of the fight against climate change. We must strengthen our economy by transitioning to clean energy while creating hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs.
I have a major fundraising deadline next week. Winning this race will mean taking back control of the House — so we can get to work on these crucial priorities. Will you support my campaign by donating now?
