[ [link removed] ]Week after week, hundreds of thousands have been taking to the streets
in Israel against Netanyahu’s anti-democratic “judicial reforms”. The
protest movement, which has grown from the efforts of grassroots
organizers, has led to an unprecedented shift in the fabric of Israeli
society. Citizens from all over the country – many of whom have never
engaged in activism before, and who are from all different backgrounds –
are turning out to make their voices heard. With horrific, spiraling
violence erupting between Israelis and Palestinians in recent days,
protest leaders have articulated concerns that the government could take
advantage of the unraveling security situation to distract from its
anti-democratic moves. The movement’s leaders are determined to press on
with the protests. To talk about how we got here – and what happens next –
join us this Thursday for an exciting and timely discussion with three of
the protest movement’s organizers. They’ll talk to us about how they got
involved, what they’re seeing on the ground as the government’s plans
continue to grind forward, and what we as pro-Israel, pro-peace,
pro-democracy Americans can do to help. [ [link removed] ]This Event will take place on

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy
Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the
Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we
advocate policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish
and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
