John,

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of World Water Day, Food & Water Watch is growing our campaigns to ensure clean, affordable water for all.

One major component of protecting our water is regulating PFAS - the toxic lab-made forever chemicals found in almost everything from food packing to non-stick pans. PFAS is a major polluter of our drinking water — and just last week, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed enforceable limits on six types of PFAS in drinking water!

Food & Water Watch has been calling for limits to PFAS in drinking water for years. While these  rules will lay the groundwork for safer drinking water, they don’t go far enough. More extensive regulations are needed.

Send a message telling the EPA to regulate the entire class of PFAS chemicals and reject any calls to weaken the standards!

Corporate polluters have known for decades that PFAS chemicals are toxic, and research has made it clear that no amount of PFAS is safe. More and more studies are uncovering PFAS’s health risks, including cancers, immune system harm, and reproductive system harm.

In order to protect public health, corporate polluters must be held accountable for cleaning up their pollution and complying with new limits on PFAS. Corporations are already crying foul, and they’ll be doing everything possible to make sure EPA’s proposed limits are not finalized. We can’t allow this to happen.

Send a message to the EPA: Remove PFAS from our drinking water once and for all!

MESSAGE EPA!

PFAS limits are only the first step. Communities will need more federal support to comply with these public health standards. That’s why this year, we’ll also be working with our allies in Congress to pass the WATER Act — critical legislation that would provide a permanent source of federal funding for our public water infrastructure to ensure safe and clean water for all.

PFAS can be found in almost every drinking water source from coast to coast. That’s why communities on the frontlines of the toxic PFAS crisis have called for federal action to protect drinking water for decades — since at least the late 1990s. Setting an enforceable limit on PFAS in drinking water is long overdue.

Everyone should have access to safe and affordable water. Join us on World Water Day to demand the EPA regulate ALL types of PFAS to keep our drinking water safe!
