Water security — plus peacebuilding, food security, and economic
opportunity — are the four interconnected key outcomes of our work.

Life
without clean water is not only a health risk — it affects every area of
life, especially for women.

In many parts of the world, women and girls must carry heavy water
containers long distances to collect water. The treks may put their safety
at risk, and the time required can prevent girls from attending school and
women from earning income. Where people have no choice but to drink dirty
water, they can contract waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid.
Billions of people don’t have access to the clean water and sanitation
services they need.

Today, on World Water Day, we’re asking you to make a gift that can help
us go up to 5X as far, for families facing crisis in 40+ countries around
the world.

You see, Mercy Corps raises an average of up to $4 in public grants
compared to every $1 in individual gifts. That means your gift, when
combined with our average annual grants, can help us go 5X as far. [ [link removed] ]Will
you make a gift today and help us meet our March fundraising goal of
$50,000?

Water security is a basic human right, and is one of four key areas of
Mercy Corps’ work. From now through the end of March, we’re sharing more
about each of these four focus areas, which also include: Food Security,
Economic Opportunity, and Peacebuilding.

Last year, Mercy Corps reached 4.6 million people in 22 countries with our
water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs. In times of emergency, we
mobilize quickly to provide immediate solutions like trucking in water and
constructing temporary sanitation facilities. Then, we work with
communities on long-term solutions like rehabilitating and strengthening
management of water systems.

WASH programs provide more than clean water — they provide communities
more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school. Which means WASH
programs can break the cycle of poverty.

Your generous support helps us reach as many people as
possible with programs that strengthen water and food security, economic
opportunity, and peacebuilding around the world.

When you make a gift of $, it will join with
$0 to help families when crises strike, and long after, as
they recover and rebuild their communities.

it can help us go up to 5X as far, for millions of people we serve around
the world.
