John, As you may remember, I recently passed along a petition demanding that William Barr resign as Attorney General. Because AG Barr has worked around the clock to cast aside justice and the rule of law in order to protect Donald Trump, I do not believe it is appropriate that he continues to serve as Attorney General -- which is why I’m asking everyone to stand with me in demanding William Barr resign. I wanted to give you a big update on our petition: the New York City Bar Association has called for Congress to investigate William Barr’s conduct. Increasing grassroots awareness and pressure on the issue of William Barr’s abuses has clearly attracted the attention of the New York City Bar Association. They wrote a letter to the leaders in both chambers of Congress, saying: “Mr. Barr’s recent actions and statements position the Attorney General and, by extension, the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) as political partisans willing to use the levers of government to empower certain groups over others.”
It’s long been clear that the Trump Administration (including AG William Barr) has no regard for the rule of law. The integrity of our Justice Department is going to come down to us.
