Hi team: I’m Norma, a lead organizer in Texas with UWDA. I became involved in immigrant advocacy after experiencing the struggles my own undocumented parents faced.
Growing up, my parents were afraid to even drive down the street — for fear of being racially profiled by the police.
We moved multiple times a year across the state as my parents looked for different jobs and tried their best to maintain some financial stability.
Doors are shut when you’re undocumented — everything from financial aid programs and scholarships to housing assistance are out of reach for undocumented people.
All of this is why I first took the 23-hour drive to Washington D.C. to join members of United We Dream Action and demand permanent protections for immigrant youth and all undocumented people.
With United We Dream Action, I’ve found a vehicle to work toward our goals for a pathway to citizenship, but also foster critical community at the same time.
We’re fighting for impactful legislation, to defund agencies like ICE that inflict pain on immigrant communities, and to build a network of immigrant youth and allies that spans every corner of the country.
Our work is only getting started, but we rely on the grassroots support of allies like you, friend, to keep up our fight for permanent protections.
So today I’m asking: Will you make a $7 donation to help us win protections for immigrant youth and all undocumented people?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for standing with our immigrant youth-led movement.
Norma, United We Dream Action
