This just in — the Supreme Court has issued a decision allowing President Trump to begin implementing his cruel public charge rule.
The public charge rule cruelly targets working immigrants and their families by weaponizing the use of critical health, nutrition, and housing programs. In fact, this policy is so overreaching that had it been implemented when my parents immigrated here decades ago, my own family likely would have been impacted.
The Trump administration can try to rewrite history and undermine our future, but these attacks can’t change something fundamental: We are a nation of immigrants — and we must continue to lean forward in the face of heartless Republican attacks on our working families.
We’re going to keep on fighting to stop this rule in the Appeals court. As we fight, will you stand with us today, team?
