Don’t miss out on fascinating stories of the men and women who defended our
freedom. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌[[link removed]]

June 2022

Dear Friend,

This weekend Great Britian is celebrating a Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years of
Her Majesty The Queen's service to the people of the United Kingdom and the
Commonwealth.

Throughout her time as the longest reigning monarch in British history and in
the decades before, Queen Elizabeth II maintained an enduring relationship with
the armed forces, regularly visiting military personnel and bases including
Duxford, as a Queen, a Princess, and a soldier.

In addition to visiting Duxford during wartime, Her Majesty also attended the
grand opening of the American Air Museum in 1997. In this month's blog article
we take a look at The Queen's extraordinary commitment to military service.

out when she was 13 years old.

At the age of 19, Princess Elizabeth joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service,
becoming the first woman in The Royal Family to enlist as a full-time member of
the armed services.
