A few weeks ago, Jennifer McClellan became the Commonwealth’s first Black Congresswoman. I couldn’t be more grateful for this grassroots team that helped her make history, but now, the special election to fill her vacated seat is only 6 days away, and this is a race we can’t afford to lose.

On Tuesday, Lamont Bagby, the chairman of the Virginia Black Legislative Caucus, will face off against his Republican opponent for the 9th State Senate district. The winner of this seat could be the deciding vote that determines whether or not the VA GOP can enact any of its dangerous, right-wing agenda.
