Today, our faith is under fire--as seen clearly in what former Georgia police officer, Jacob Kersey, has faced.
In January, Jacob was threatened with dismissal from the Port Wentworth Police Department for a post on his personal Facebook account. Reflecting upon the truth found in Ephesians 5, in 20 words he simply stated: "God designed marriage. Marriage refers to Christ and the church. That's why there is no such thing as homosexual marriage."
After multiple meetings and a strongly worded letter from superiors, 19-year-old Jacob felt he had no choice but to resign from his dream job as he took a stand for truth. But Family Research Council won't let cancel culture and government overreach have the last word.
Days ago on March 10, Jody Hice, a former Georgia congressman and now FRC's senior advisor to the president, met with Port Wentworth city officials and delivered our petition that was signed by nearly 35,000 faithful friends like you.
Hice called on city leaders to "respect and abide by the most basic of American freedoms, the freedom of religion." Also present for the meetings was former Atlanta fire chief Kelvin Cochran, who in 2015 was fired for stating biblical views on marriage in a devotional written for a Sunday school class. He applauded Kersey for taking his stand.
