John,
On March 25th, 2023, from 10-4 pm EST, we are holding an MPOLIS (Moral Political Organizing Leadership Institute and Summit) National Virtual Training for all Coordinating Committee members and interested parties in your state.
Click here to register for the MPOLIS Training.
This is the basic framework training that we do for all states in order for them to be an official Poor People’s Campaign State Coordinating Committee and to build and strengthen the work. This session will be led by our coaches, as well as other experts, and it will require a commitment to attend the entire training online.
During this time we will train attendees on the following areas:
We are doing this to ensure that all of our state coordinating committees have the same basic information, knowledge, and fundamental understanding of what a state Coordinating Committee is, and what its primary responsibilities are to the campaign.
Remember, we are not a traditional organization, we are an organism and a campaign. And our work is in building a fusion movement, which means that we mobilize in a very particular way. Additionally, we are a moral fusion campaign, which means that what we do flows from our deepest religious and constitutional values.
Every Coordinating Committee should, at a minimum, have at least 30 people on their committee, which includes 1/3 being directly impacted, 1/3 being advocates; and 1/3 being faith leaders and clergy.
This work is not for everyone, but we certainly invite those who want to engage in building a Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Please RSVP, mark your calendars for March 25th, and please help get this message out. This is open to all current coordinating committee members and others who may be interested in your state.
We will also be forwarding this invitation to the people that are on your official state campaign’s social media account. Please reply to this email if you have any questions.
