Dawn Foods' digital journey, which includes investing in its e-commerce platform, is part of the bakery ingredients company's effort to simplify things for customers and drive profit and engagement, says Chief Digital Officer Bob Howland. "The shift away from monoliths to a more modern, composable architecture really liberates e-commerce leaders and allows us to create e-commerce platforms which we can control, and which can really be nimble in responding to customer and market dynamics," Howland says.
Ingram Micro has achieved Amazon Web Services Migration Competency, which allows the distributor to offer tools, education and support for customers' cloud migration strategies, said Duncan Robinson, Ingram Micro's vice president for growth partnerships and cloud. Global revenue for enterprise applications is expected to increase to more than $385 billion by 2026 from $280 billion last year, most of which will come from public cloud investments, according to analyst firm IDC.
Amazon has announced it will cut 9,000 jobs in the coming weeks, with most positions being in human resources, cloud computing, advertising and Twitch streaming. The announcement follows 18,000 jobs being axed at the beginning of the year, with the combined job cuts affecting just under 2% of the company's workforce.
