Sandeels play an integral role in the marine ecosystem - they are vital for healthy populations of fish, mammals and seabirds. But they are in decline, and together we have a unique opportunity to reverse that.
Stopping industrial fishing isn't just about saving puffins. Banning destructive boats means more fish for the communities around our coast that depend on more sustainable fishing. And healthy oceans that are full of life are better at sucking carbon out of the air - they can be one of our best allies against the climate crisis. So taking action to protect our oceans is good for puffins, people and the planet.
Nothing changes without you, John - please sign the petition today and let's show the government the UK wants them to act.
Thank you for helping protect our oceans and UK nature.
