Hi John,
One of our priorities for the year, the Toxic Free Kids Modernization Bill (HB 3043) is scheduled for a final vote by the House tomorrow. This bill would expand on the Toxic Free Kids Act from 2015 and reduce exposure to toxic chemicals in children’s products. Will you write to your representative today urging them to vote yes on this bill? [[link removed]]
With so many new chemicals being introduced constantly, we need stronger protections for our kids. Our state is part of a growing movement across our nation to pass laws protecting our future generations from toxics often found in products they interact with every day. Fortunately, many of our lawmakers agree with us on the necessity of the Toxic Free Kids Modernization Bill, but we need to make sure HB 3043 passes tomorrow! [[link removed]] We do not want our kids to be exposed to toxics that can cause developmental issues and weakened immune systems via products that they use every day.
A modernized Toxic Free Kids Act would allow our health authorities to regulate classes of harmful chemicals and limit exemptions granted to manufacturers to three years. It would also require manufacturers to include brand name and model when reporting products with toxics, making it easier for consumers to avoid them. Please do your part to protect our kids from harmful chemicals and take action now! [[link removed]]
Thank you for your continued support.
