I’m in Washington, D.C., today for the second time this month at the invitation of the Biden-Harris Administration to recognize our efforts to protect this embattled Wilderness.

Ingrid Lyons, Save the Boundary Waters’ Executive Director, and I just left the White House Council on Environmental Quality’s historic event called “Conservation in Action: Building A Better America.” This event celebrated the historic conservation measures the White House has taken across the country so far, including the 20-year mining ban in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness watershed.

We must make the Boundary Waters a forever Wilderness by pushing for permanent protection of this beloved landscape to prevent any future threats from toxic sulfide-ore copper mining.
