This month is all about momentum for climate action.

PROMISE TO OUR PLANET
Thursday March 23, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:30 PM Pacific
Virtual Event

As a community we have a lot of news to talk about: Coming to grips with the newest IPCC findings; phasing out NOx-emitting home appliances; shifting the needle on climate literacy in schools and plant-based options in cafeterias; and gearing up for a whole month of appreciating Mother Earth. That's why we're getting together for this special evening with the theme "Charting Progress, Celebrating Community."

Event Highlights
The welcome begins at 5 PM with remarks by Ertharin Cousin, a "hunger hero ([link removed] who hails from Chicago, IL.Through many high-profile leadership roles she has been deeply involved in understanding and mitigating food insecurity at a systems level. Then we'll split up into small groups for live networking, which we'll reshuffle every few minutes. We hope you'll join us and share what you're working on in climate action!

Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) began as an Acterra program. Now in 2023, after exciting growth and transition, it has become a fully fledged 501(c)(3) nonprofit ([link removed] that is working hand in hand with neighbors in North Fair Oaks, Belle Haven, and East Palo Alto to create greater climate resilience locally. We'll hear from CRC's Executive Director, Violet Saena, about this journey and the community-building they're leading.

The online Fund-A-Future is a snapshot of Acterra's work in electrification, food and climate change, education and youth empowerment, advocacy, and diversity, equity and inclusion — and an invitation to play a part in its sustainability. If you can't attend the event, you can still support community-based climate action by visiting our Donation page ([link removed]
Closing remarks by Dr. Jon Foley will offer cutting-edge insights from his years of experience in the field. How can we distill a road map of solutions that will provide the most bang for the buck — according to the timescale that creates the most impact? Foley is the Executive Director of the nation's top evidence-based climate solutions organization, Project Drawdown.
