Team,

Social Security and Medicare are a foundational part of the American bargain that Granite Staters and Americans depend on. But for decades extreme Republican politicians have had these essential programs in their crosshairs.

Despite what they claimed after this year's State of the Union address, numerous Republican politicians have proposed gutting Medicare and Social Security for years.

Senator Rick Scott wrote a plan calling for all federal programs, including Social Security and Medicare, to "sunset" every five years while the Republican Study Committee, which includes 150 members of Congress, proposed raising the eligibility ages for both programs. Here in NH-01, Chris's Republican opponent last year even promised to write the bill to privatize Social Security on the campaign trail!

Speaker Kevin McCarthy is refusing to raise the debt ceiling — which could lead to a federal default and would cost the United States millions of jobs and send us into a recession — without significant spending cuts. McCarthy and other MAGA Republicans have voted to cut Social Security and Medicare in the past, and we can't trust him to protect them now.

As long as Chris is in Congress, he'll continue to defend and strengthen these critical programs. But he can't do it alone.

Will you chip in $5, $25, or whatever you can to help Chris protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare for generations to come? >> [link removed]

Thank you,
