John,
As we celebrate Women's History Month, I am reminded of the generations of women who have fought for our right to make our own health care decisions. Sadly, today, our rights are under attack like never before. And in particular, it seems like we see access to abortion being stripped away every single day.
That's why I'm writing to ask you to add your name to let me know that you are with me in the fight to protect reproductive freedom:

As you know, I've been working to protect these rights with the Black Maternal Health Momnibus Act , a series of 12 bills dedicated to saving moms' lives. Our efforts have already led to the Protecting Moms Who Served Act being signed into law in November 2021. But we still have a lot of work to do.
My focus has also been on strengthening the protections of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and laying the groundwork for an equitable paid family and medical leave law in this country.
The FMLA is a critical piece of legislation that allows workers to take time off to care for themselves or loved ones when faced with a serious medical condition. Working people should be able to provide for their families and care for loved ones without worrying about their job security or putting their career plans on hold. That’s what I’m fighting for, and I know that many of you share my commitment to protecting all women's freedom to make their own health care decisions.
But right now, we are facing a critical moment.
Recently, a federal judge in Texas held a hearing for a case that could repeal access to mifepristone, a medication that has been used safely for decades, which doctors prescribe for abortions and treating miscarriages. In 21 states, Republican attorneys general have threatened legal action against its distribution.
These attacks on our reproductive health care show that we must fight harder than ever to protect our rights — especially as Black, brown and our most vulnerable communities are hit hardest by these cruel rollbacks. We cannot let extremist politicians who look to obstruct our progress or corporations infringe upon the freedom to make our own health care decisions.
John, the full support of our grassroots movement right now is crucial — our work to make progress for all of us depends on how we act in this moment. Please, add your name to let me know that you stand with me and believe that we need to protect reproductive rights, and we need to protect them NOW:

Together, we can ensure that all people have the freedom to make their own health care decisions.
Thank you for your ongoing support of reproductive rights and for standing with me during Women's History Month. Let's continue making a difference together.
