Sharice has been working hard in Congress, fighting to deliver for Kansas families.
In the last session of Congress, Sharice led on major issues — from fighting against climate change and improving supply chains to lowering healthcare costs and protecting marriage equality — and worked with members of both parties to achieve results for Kansans.
As the new Congress picks up, Sharice is fighting to keep getting things done. Check out what Sharice has been working on below!
Sharice was the only member of the Kansas congressional delegation who voted to cap the cost of insulin at $35 per month for people on Medicare and has called repeatedly for this provision to be extended to all Americans. Now, the top three largest insulin producers in our country have listened to Sharice and Democrats and are substantially lowering their prices. This is a major victory in our fight to lower the cost of healthcare and prescription drugs for all.
Through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, Sharice secured nearly $2.5 million in funding to support youth mental health programs at the University of Kansas Medical Center!
Sharice has been making stops throughout the district on her Farm Bill Listening Tour. Have you run into her? Already, she’s made stops at family-owned farms across Kansas, from Bauman’s Cedar Valley Farm in Anderson County to the KC Farm School in Wyandotte County.
Sharice is continuing to champion sustainable infrastructure, securing $4 million in federal funds to acquire and replace electric buses in the Kansas City area, as well as $1.28 million to make roads more friendly to pedestrians and bikers, and nearly $7 million for affordable housing.
Sharice hosted Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in De Soto to tour the planned Panasonic Energy manufacturing site which will create 20,000 new jobs and provide sustainable economic opportunities in our district.
Sharice was named to the House Transportation & Infrastructure, Small Business, and Agriculture Committees in the 118th Congress! All of these committees provide important opportunities for Sharice to bring the voices of Kansans to the table as she works to invest in our infrastructure and support local businesses and agriculture industries.
Sharice was named to the DCCC Frontline program — a list of the most competitive Democratic seats in 2024 — and is now officially a top Republican target. That means National Republicans are getting ready to pour money into Kansas to try and flip Sharice’s seat and expand their slim House majority.
This was just some of what’s been going on with Team Sharice.
Everyone who has supported Sharice through volunteering, donating, attending an event, or anything else is the reason she has been able to get so much done.
We will win in 2024 if our grassroots supporters continue to help us fight back against the onslaught of misleading attack ads that we expect to drop in KS-03.
