Dear John, We need your voice to stop Formosa Plastics from building a petrochemicals complex in a predominantly Black district of St. James Parish, Louisiana. The so-called “Sunshine Project” could increase toxic air emissions by 800 tons yearly and increase greenhouse gas emissions by 13.6 million tons yearly in the industrial corridor of Louisiana referred to as Cancer Alley. It’s more toxic pollution that would threaten an already overburdened community and set back climate goals.
JPMorgan Chase Bank, the largest bank in the United States, has stated their commitment to environmental responsibility and efforts to support racial equity. But the institution still holds shares in Formosa Plastics and could be asked to support this project. Sign now to call on Jamie Dimon, JPMorgan Chase’s CEO, to end any and all business relationships with Formosa Plastics and its affiliates, and to stop this toxic and racist petrochemical complex!
