Friend,

President Trump and Jared Kushner’s long delayed Israeli-Palestinian “plan” is slated to be unveiled at the White House tomorrow in a joint Trump-Netanyahu press conference.

This is set to be President Trump’s most damaging and significant intervention in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so far. Please join me tomorrow evening for an urgent briefing call with Brookings Middle East experts Tamara Cofman Wittes and Shibley Telhami.

Together, we'll review the content of the proposal, its implications for Israelis and Palestinians and how we as a pro-Israel, pro-peace movement can respond.

Register to join us at 8pm, Tuesday January 28 here >>

We expect Trump’s proposal may lay the groundwork for annexation of significant parts of the West Bank, including most or all major settlement blocks and possibly the Jordan Valley as well.

It also seems likely the “plan” will include a version of quasi-statehood for Palestinians and promises of billions of dollars of Gulf state investment. From what we’ve seen so far, such elements are essentially disingenuous distractions included as a smokescreen to mask the underlying intent of the plan: To green-light annexation and subvert the prospects for a true two-state solution.

For immediate, in-depth analysis of the Trump plan, its political impact and the consequences for Israelis and Palestinians, please join our call Tuesday evening.

Yours,

Debra Shushan
Director of Government Affairs
