Friend, last week I introduced the Defending Our Defenders Act in the U.S. Senate.
This bill would make murdering a state or federal law enforcement officer a federal crime — punishable by life in prison or the death penalty.
Law enforcement officers protect American citizens and defend the rule of law. Attacks on them are attacks on our democracy. The criminals who do so should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
