Join us in urging EPA to strengthen its proposal to protect us
from dangerous soot air pollution.

A high school activist with asthma living near a busy
intersection worried about her health. An Indiana resident
worried about people in his low-income Hispanic community that is
sandwiched between a major freeway, a gas-fired power plant, and
a BP refinery. A single mom concerned about the long-term health
impact of soot particularly on communities of color.
What do they all have in common? They are so concerned
about public health and the environment that they recently
attended an NRDC training with me to learn about the threats
posed by deadly soot air pollution and how they could get
involved — then they spoke out at a public hearing to urge EPA to
strengthen its proposal to crack down on that pollution.
Now time is almost up for YOU to get involved too! Submit a
comment by next Tuesday, March 28 to push for stronger limits on
soot air pollution and save lives. ( [link removed]

EPA must strengthen their proposal and help protect
millions of Americans, including vulnerable populations like
children, the elderly, as well as people with asthma and other
respiratory and heart conditions, from the dangers of soot
pollution.
Urge EPA to finalize stricter soot limits before it's too
late. ( [link removed]

EPA Must Strengthen Health Protections from Deadly Soot Air
Pollution
EPA released a new proposal to protect our health from
dangerous soot pollution — but it's not nearly strong enough.
Urge EPA to strengthen its proposal to further protect public
health, defend our communities, and save lives.

Dear NRDC Activist,
If you or a loved one has asthma, diabetes, heart disease —
breathing dirty air can be dangerous, and even deadly.
Soot air pollution — also known as fine particle pollution
— causes harm by entering the lungs and bloodstream and damaging
our hearts, brains, and entire cardiovascular systems.
President Biden's EPA has released a new proposal to
protect our health from deadly soot pollution through the Clean
Air Act — but it's not nearly strong enough.
Urge EPA to strengthen health protections from dangerous
soot air pollution to further protect public health, defend our
communities, and save lives. ( [link removed]

More than 20 million Americans live in areas with unhealthy
levels of soot pollution year round, and more than 63 million
Americans experience unhealthy spikes in daily levels of soot
pollution. Health burdens of soot are disproportionately borne by
communities of color and those living near power plants and other
industrial facilities, as well as busy roads and freeways.
We must act now — EPA is only accepting comments on this
proposal until March 28. Can we
count on you to submit your comment today? ( [link removed]

I know we can do this. Tighter limits on soot pollution
would be consistent with the law, firmly supported by the
science, and in line with the recommendations of EPA's own
scientific advisors. And it will save lives.
Submit your public comment: Demand stricter soot limits
from EPA! ( [link removed]

Every death from this preventable air pollution is one too
many — we need action now.
