Our mission promotes prosperity, strong families, and vibrant communities. ICYMI | WILL Responds to President Biden’s Veto on Bipartisan ESG Bill Today, President Joe Biden vetoed the bipartisan resolution from Congress that condemned, and would ultimately block, the use of environmental, social, and governance (commonly referred to as “ESG”) factors in retirement investing. WILL responded to the President’s decision, and continues its legal efforts against the woke and illegal rule. 🗯 WILL President & General Counsel, Rick Esenberg, stated “If environmental impacts or social issues are actually relevant to risk, fiduciaries have always been obliged to consider them. The Department rule presumes their relevance and, in practice, all but mandates their consideration. I’d rather have my retirement funds managed by professionals than politicians.” 🗯 WILL Associate Counsel, Kate Spitz, added, “President Biden’s recent veto of this congressional resolution leaves us no choice but to continue our lawsuit against his administration’s ESG rule. The President’s action not only ignores the bipartisan will of Congress and circumvents its action, but jeopardizes the financial security of over 140 million Americans by injecting partisan issues, such as climate change and DEI initiatives, into their retirement investments.” ⚖️ WILL proudly represents and takes on clients at no cost to them—and it’s all because of generous supporters like you. Help us push back against President Biden's reckless executive action—standing up proudly for freedom, liberty, and the rule of law. The recent television ad from Janet Protasiewicz is false and unfairly questions the motives of our organization. The false accusations it raises have been repeatedly demonstrated to be incorrect so this ad cannot even be defended as a honest mistake. The ad should be taken off the air and Ms. Protosiewicz should apologize. Read the Facts ICYMI | Amicus Brief asserts that a Massachusetts school district is violating parents’ constitutional rights WILL, on behalf of Dr. Erica E. Anderson, filed an amicus brief in the First Circuit, urging the federal court of appeals to reverse a District Court decision today. The decision currently holds that a Ludlow Public School District’s policy, in Massachusetts can exclude parents from important decisions regarding their minor children’s gender identities and that the policy does not violate the constitutional rights of parents. 🗯 WILL Deputy Counsel, Luke Berg, said, “It’s up to the parents to raise their child, not school staff. When a major decision-point arises—like whether school faculty treat a minor child as the opposite sex—schools must defer to parents. WILL is committed to defending parents’ rights and holding school districts and their policies accountable.” Read More NEW | Policy brief uncovers that retention plus science-based teaching equals better ELA outcomes   WILL released its new educational policy brief: “Holding Kids Back to Push Them Forward: An Analysis of Retention Policy in Wisconsin.” In this paper, we show that when kids are sent to the next grade without being able to read, they are set up to fail. Based on our research and other studies from around the country, we believe holding kids back as a last resort based on test results is sound education policy. A statewide requirement, similar to other states, is essential. 🗯 WILL Research Director, Will Flanders, PhD, stated, “It is clear that changes are needed in our current education system, and a part of that change may focus on getting kids ready for the next grade and not just sending them forward to fail down the road. To improve performance outcomes—and ensure academic success for kids—retention should increase, and it must be paired with the science of reading.” Learn More     Support Us The work we do would not be possible without the generosity of our donors; we are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization that receives no public funds.
