Hey John! It’s Becca.
I'm back in DC and preparing for a week of committee work on the Oversight and Budget hearings. I am showing up every day with courage, kindness and integrity, which is the only way to combat the vitriol and distractions that I am presented with by extremist Republicans in the House.
I caught up with Natalie, my campaign manager, this weekend, and we are both just shocked at how tight of a timeframe a two-year term in Congress feels. With the very high likelihood of having primary challengers, we really don’t have any time off from campaigning.
Our first fundraising deadline of the year is on March 31, and Natalie let me know we are a few thousand dollars short of our goal. I do not accept any corporate PAC money, and it is truly folks like you that enable me to be here. I am so honored and grateful for your trust, your support, and the kind words so many of you have sent me. I am working hard for you each and every day, and it is truly the honor of my life.
Asking for money is my least favorite part of this job, but it is also how my team and I are able to get around the state, meet with people who may have never spoken with their representative, and support local candidates up and down the ballot in Vermont.
So what do you say, John: Can I count on you to chip in $10 today? Whatever you can swing would be immensely helpful.
