Florida Republicans are doing everything they can to attach shame to bodily autonomy.
Just last week, they advanced a six-week abortion ban through the state House — and now, it’s making its way through the state legislature.
That’s way before most people even know they’re pregnant, friend. Not only is this bill stripping millions of Floridians of their bodily autonomy — it’s fueling far-right Republicans in their fight to impose felony charges on doctors who perform abortions, too.
That means doctors who provide necessary — and sometimes life-saving — reproductive health care procedures could be sentenced to five years in prison in addition to losing their medical licenses.
