A major component of our Texas Border Plan is to take aim at the drug cartels and criminal organizations— something I've been fighting for since my very first months in Congress.
Cartels have taken complete control of the border. Fentanyl has killed 72,000 Americans. Cartel-fueled crime is surging across the country.
So now we’re taking action. I’ve reintroduced a bill to designate drug cartels as terrorist organizations.
These are the cartels we’re specifically targeting:
Gulf Cartel
Cartel Del Noreste
Cartel de Sinaloa
Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion
Between the murders of innocent Americans, fentanyl running rampant, 1,000 migrants dead along the Southern Border, not to mention who knows how many victims of human sex trafficking, we can no longer sit on the sidelines and let cartels continue their rein of terror.
This bill will provide federal authorities with the tools needed to fight the cartels.
