Republicans are attacking our children’s public education.

FIRST: Republicans in North Carolina introduced a bill that seeks to dictate how race is taught in schools.

THEN: The Republican-led Texas government announced a takeover of the Houston Independent School District, the largest school district in the state and a majority Black and Brown school district.

NOW: We must fight back to protect public schools and defend equity in our public education.

Valerie ran for Congress with a career as a public servant and public advocate under her belt. And as a mother to Chapel Hill-Carrboro City school alumni and former board member, she will not stand back and watch as Republicans engage in another ploy to gain political power.
