Last week, the Biden administration approved the $8 billion Willow oil project on federally-owned land in Alaska, leaving many confused how a Democrat could do something so detrimental to the fight against climate change.

We’re disappointed, but we’re not surprised — Biden was never on our side to begin with. Take a look at this headline from Counter Punch:

Joe Biden is an establishment Democrat — he’s not a progressive, and we can’t expect him to be. We have to work to bring more progressives to Congress who will fight non-stop for our values and put pressure on the establishment to do the right thing.

It’s our job to keep pushing relentlessly to transform the Democratic Party, and recruit and elect real progressives to Congress who will fight for climate justice.
