Can I have a moment of your Monday to explain what’s going on right now?
About two months ago on January 26th, I launched our campaign for California’s Senate seat. It wasn’t an easy decision. I’ve proudly served Californians in Congress for more than two decades — fighting to pass progressive legislation and defend our democracy.
After long nights of weighing it and talking with Eve, I ultimately stepped up to the plate for one reason: Many of the fights for our democracy in the next several years will be fought in the U.S. Senate.
Abolishing the filibuster.
Filling Supreme Court vacancies.
Certifying the results of the next election.
These fights — and so many more — will be taking place on the floor of the Senate. It’s critical that we elect a Senator who believes that right matters. That truth matters. And that our democracy matters.
I’ve been on the frontline of the fight for the heart and soul of our democracy. And always will be. Our work isn’t over — so I’m committed to taking our fight straight to the Senate.
