John, during Women’s History Month, we are reminded of the tremendous inequities Black women face in our healthcare system.
In the United States, maternal mortality rates are three times higher for Black women than for white women. That’s nothing short of terrifying.

That’s why we couldn’t be happier to see Michigan FINALLY taking concrete action to save the lives of Black women. Sign our petition now to support this piece of critical legislation:
The Michigan Momnibus proposal would aim to increase access to alternative birthing care like birthing centers and midwives while addressing systemic racism to improve healthcare for Black mothers and decrease Black maternal mortality rates.
This is the kind of concrete action we want to see — no, need to see — across the board, at all levels of government.
