A native Californian and Syrian Lebanese American, his philanthropic work began in his teens when he met St. Jude Children's Research Hospital founder Danny Thomas at a radio telethon in Hollywood, California. In the years since, Farah has raised millions of dollars for St. Jude and countless other philanthropic causes. One of the nation's most celebrated charities, the Celebrity Foundation for Children, was founded by him, ranking among the top 1 percent of all charities. He has spent decades not only entertaining people internationally but helping communities flourish. Farah's tireless dedication to philanthropy and pride in his Arab heritage make him our 2023 Arab American of the Year.
