John,

ICYMI: The biggest bank failure since the 2008 financial crisis hit a bank
in Silicon Valley, forcing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
(FDIC) to take over. This led to a widespread panic among wealthy
investors and venture capitalists in the tech industry.

Now the FDIC has promised to make those investors “whole” — effectively
bailing them out. They gambled, mismanaged their risk, and yet will still
get off scot-free.

But how did this happen in the first place? It happened because
Republicans weakened bank regulations back in 2018 under the Trump
administration, paving the way for Silicon Valley Bank's failure.

Meanwhile, President Biden’s plan to deliver critical student debt relief
for more than 40 million borrowers is being held up in the Supreme Court
after Republicans chose to stand with loan companies who have been
tirelessly lobbying for payments to resume so they can extract more
profit.

The Republicans who pushed to provide massive handouts to corporations
during the pandemic are the same Republicans who lobbied to loosen bank
regulations, and are now turning their backs on poor and working people.

Corporate money corrupts our politics. And as we’re clearly seeing now,
it’s the people who pay the price.

[ [link removed] ]John, it’s
past time for an economy that works for ALL OF US. If you agree, can you
chip in $3 — or any amount today — to help Pramila keep up
the fight for critical student debt relief?

More than 90% of student loan borrowers earn less than $75k a year. This
is a crisis — even seniors are entering retirement with student debt. And
more than 12 million borrowers live in districts represented by the same
Republicans who are seeking to deny them relief.

We have come a long way in our fight to provide for millions of borrowers.
And we know we have miles to go so we can continue delivering for working
class people and their communities.

[ [link removed] ]Our movement needs your support so we can keep up our fight against
the lobbyists and corporations that are standing in the way of progress.
Will you pitch in today to stand with the 40 million Americans in need of
debt relief?

In solidarity,
