Hello Comrade,
We’re nearing the end of March, and it’s time for our General Meeting! On Wednesday the 22nd, we’ll be at the Downtown branch of the Akron library in person, or you can join on Zoom. There’s a lot to talk about, and we will be getting everyone up to speed on all the activities of the last month and discussing our plans going forward.
Tuesday, March 28 at 6pm is the third meeting of our Reimagining Public Safety Campaign. We will be discussing Housing Justice at the Odom Branch Library. Please sign up here and join us as we learn about and discuss how police have become enforcers for landlords and how they make it impossible for the houseless to create safe communities. You can find our campaign resources here and catch up ahead of time.
It was wonderful to see everyone who came out to Songs and Solidarity on Saturday. We had our biggest span of ages from almost three months old to over 65. A
big thank you to Rick, Tyler, and Matt who performed originals and labor folk songs. Through these songs, we can hear the history of the working class.
And as always, to get full voting rights and determine the future priorities of the chapter, Join DSA — we’d love to have you. Once a chapter member, you can join our Slack, where we talk and organize between generals. Already a member but not on Slack? Send us an email and let us know.
Solidarity,
Akron DSA
