I’m reaching out to ask you to make a contribution to my re-election campaign. The end of this month marks our first FEC fundraising deadline of 2023, so I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why this request is so important.

Last week, we got word that we are already being hit with digital attack ads paid for by The National Republican Congressional Committee. In fact, their press team has attacked me by name no less than four times since listing me as one of their top targets in 2024.

The attacks are exactly what you'd expect from the GOP -- misleading and chock-full of buzzwords like "woke" and "socialist." This kind of fear-mongering is nothing new for us, but it's clear they're focusing a lot more energy on us and doing it earlier than ever.

We need to report a large fundraising number as a show of strength against these attacks. That makes next week's public FEC deadline a more critical test than usual, and as it stands, we're still pacing a bit behind where we need to be.
