RPA Weekly Recap | March 20, 2023 Haven't slept since the Hogs made it to the Sweet 16? Yeah, us either. Here is some more good news from this week's RPA Recap: F-35 FIGHTER PLANES HEADED TO FORT SMITH The United States Air Force has selected Ebbing Air National Guard Base in Fort Smith as the home of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) mission that will bring F-35 fighter planes and a Republic of Singapore F-16 squadron to the installation. It is estimated that about 900 military members and their families will be coming to the Fort Smith region, with another 230 personnel from the U.S. Air Force and 300 personnel from the Republic of Singapore. The First Congressional District Committee met in Batesville over the weekend. RPA Chairman Cody Hiland spoke to the group, and Chairwoman Sarah Dunklin of Desha County was re-elected. The Second Congressional District Committee met in Morrilton over the weekend, and Jennifer Lancaster of Saline County was elected Chairwoman. BIDENFLATION BREAKS THE BANKS & YOUR WALLET On the heels of multiple bank failures, new data shows inflation remains uncomfortably high. February's Consumer Price Index rose by 6% compared to last year. Eggs are up 55.4%; Airline fares are up 26.5%; Bread is up 15.8%; Natural gas is up 14.3%; Electricity is up 12.9%; Groceries are up 10.2%; Baby food is up 9.8%; Chicken is up 8.8%; Milk is up 8.1%. February's Producer Price Index rose by 4.6% since last year. Two years ago, Biden and his administration promised inflation would be "temporary." Inflation has now been at or above 5% for almost two years. Wage growth was wiped out by inflation yet again. There is a clear line between Biden’s inflation-fueling $1.9 trillion “stimulus,” which forced the Fed to raise interest rates, and the current banking crisis. Biden and his reckless policies aren't slowing down. Biden is doubling down on his budget, asking families to foot the bill for his $6.9 trillion tax-and-spending spree. A record number of Americans say they are worse off under Joe Biden and the administration doesn't seem to care.
