The Wilson Center’s Middle East Program hosts the official report launch of Women Entrepreneurship in MENA: The Cases of Bahrain, Lebanon and Tunisia - the second flagship report published by MEP’s Middle East Women Initiative (MEWI). The report explores the barriers and enablers for women entrepreneurs based on global, regional, and national data, as well as interviews with experts and business leaders from across the MENA region.

The Wilson Center's Mexico Institute, in partnership with Senator Josefina Vázquez Mota, who presides over the Mexican Senate’s committee on the rights of the child, will host a three-part forum on cyber-harassment and the use of technology in gender violence and gender-related crimes. The purpose of the forum is to understand the root causes of technology-assisted gender-based violence and explore the legislative, civil society, and private sector actions that can help mitigate cyber-harassment.

Former Chief Mexican Negotiator for the modernization of NAFTA Kenneth Smith Ramos will provide opening remarks, followed by a moderated discussion led by Mexico Institute Director Andrew Rudman.

In this book talk, Claire Kaiser will present her work Georgian and Soviet, which demonstrates the decisive role of the postwar and post-Stalin era in the creation of a "Georgian" Georgia. She will define the role of the Stalin cult in the construction of modern Georgian nationhood, and explore how de-Stalinization changed Georgia's populace and the unusual imperial relationship between Moscow and Tbilisi.
