Getting to the Bottom of the Silicon Valley Bank Failure

Last week we saw the first Twitter fueled bank run. As Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, it is my responsibility to get to the bottom of the failures of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank. While some in Washington are busy advancing their personal agendas, I'm focused on getting the facts to guide Congress' response. On Friday, I announced the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing with federal financial regulators in response to the failures of these two banks which willbe held on March 29, 2023. Honoring Stine Isenhower on the House Floor

Recently, I delivered a speech on the House floor to honor the legacy and service of Walter Stine Isenhower, better known as “Mr. Catawba County,” who passed away in January at the age of 95. His impact is still felt in the community from the many issues he championed, including support for the local community college and county hospital. President Biden's Budget Means More Reckless Spending

Thanks to their dangerous policies and reckless spending, the Biden Administration has caused fifteen straight months of 40-year high inflation. American families have seen the prices for groceries, gas, and other household necessities skyrocket over the last two years. Yet, instead of working to ease the burden high costs have placed on Americans, President Biden has proposed a budget that will spend trillions of dollars and significantly expand the federal government's role in our daily lives. Congratulations to the Lincoln Charter School women’s swim team on winning the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championship for the second year in a row! Senior Grace Wilson also received the North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Sportsmanship Award. It is great to see a Tenth District team recognized not only for their athletics but for their sportsmanship in and out of the water. Congratulations Lincoln Charter!
