This week, House Republicans unveiled H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act.

I am proud to co-sponsor this bill, which will increase domestic energy production, improve the energy permitting process, and make it easier to build critical energy infrastructure needed to grow the American economy.

This legislation includes several bills I worked on and supported as a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. After months of hearings, markups and briefings, this bill was carefully crafted to deliver real solutions to the American people to lower the cost of energy and unleash our energy dominance.

Visiting the State Capitol

I traveled to the State Capitol in Atlanta this week to meet with Governor Brian Kemp, Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones, Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper, and several members of the Georgia General Assembly who serve communities across GA-12.

Our state is well-served by their leadership, and I am committed to working together with elected officials at the state level to ensure a bright future for all Georgians.

Immigration, Fentanyl Crises Interconnected

In my latest Op-Ed, I described my recent trip to the U.S.-Mexico border, explained how President Biden's open-border policies are fueling the ongoing fentanyl crisis, and laid out policy solutions that I believe will help save countless American lives.

Visiting the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center

This week, I visited the Carl Vinson Veterans' Affairs Medical Center in Dublin, where I toured the facility and discussed the importance of improving access to quality of care for our veterans, both in Georgia and nationwide.

St. Patrick's Pancake Supper

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, I helped flip pancakes at the Dublin Exchange Club's annual Pancake Supper. I was glad to celebrate this holiday with members of the Dublin community and to participate in this timeless tradition.

Corned Beef Bliss Lunch

Faith and service are integral to our way of life in Georgia's 12th District, and it was great to spend time at Adas Yeshurun Synagogue to take part in the annual Corned Beef Bliss Lunch.

Attending the Joint Civic Club Lunch

I attended the annual Joint Civic Club Luncheon hosted by the Dublin Rotary Club, which brings together members of several area civic organizations, and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to connect with local business and community leaders.

Community Office Hours

Members of my staff will host Community Office Hours across the district next week, and I invite you to take advantage of the one-on-one services that our office provides.

During these events, members of our team will be available to assist you with a variety of federal issues, including help navigating various federal agencies such as Social Security, Veterans Affairs, Medicare, and more.

Plan Ahead for Passport Travel

My office has received a surge in passport expedition requests. New guidance from the State Department states the wait time for expedited service can take up to 2 months, and routine service can take up to 3 months.

My office is here to help, and please remember these helpful tips:

Check expiration dates before booking a trip; make sure your passport doesn’t expire up to 6 months after your return date.
Apply early – at least six months in advance of your planned departure date.
Use trackable mail to quickly ship the application and purchase overnight delivery for the State Department to return the completed passport.
Ensure applications are accurate and complete. Any issues with birth certificate, ID, fees, or photos could cause delays beyond the original 12 weeks.
