Folks –
I wanted to give you a brief update on the weekend’s proceedings before the Senate begins hearing the trial again today. Senator Jones pointed out this weekend that witnesses are crucial to a fair trial on both sides: the prosecution needs witnesses to prove a case, and the defense needs witnesses to fairly refute a charge if needed.
In a regular trial, there is one very important difference from what is happening right now in the impeachment trial: the defense can’t block witnesses from coming to testify like the President’s lawyers are doing right now. They too can cross-examine and try to poke holes in the prosecution’s case, but to block evidence from being heard is unthinkable.
That’s the situation we are in now with the new revelations made by former National Security Adviser John Bolton and others. There are people with direct firsthand knowledge of the core aspects of this case and the jurors can’t hear from them. That is a big problem, folks.

We need your help to keep up the pressure. No matter where you live, your Senator needs to know that you are paying attention and you want impartial justice. Please join Doug today and add your name demanding the Senate call witnesses in the impeachment trial >> [[link removed]]
This thing could be over in the next few days without witnesses. We can’t allow that to happen. As Doug has put it, we can’t afford to find out crucial details in John Bolton’s book when it comes out months after the trial.
We know Doug and his colleagues are hearing your voices, and they are working, but we need to keep up the fight.
Thank you for your help.
