Jack, in our two-decade long existence, Daily Kos has endorsed hundreds of candidates; up and down the ballot, in every corner of the country. Some of our best work is done to help not just elect more Democrats, but elect better Democrats.
However, as I mentioned in the email below this one, I am not writing to you today to ask you to support one of our endorsed candidates. I am writing to ask you to directly support Daily Kos with a donation. Here's why this is so important:
Daily Kos relies on three sources of revenue to cover our budget needs; community fundraising, advertising, and list building, in which Democratic and progressive campaigns pay for the opportunity to make their case to our readers. Besides support from our readers and activists, so far this year, our revenue has been lagging behind our projections. This could jeopardize our ability to continue supporting quality progressive candidates.
Donations from Daily Kos readers and activists like you, Jack, are our largest source income. Without your support, we can't do the work we do. That's why I am asking for your help: Can you support Daily Kos' work with a donation of $5?

Thanks for all you do,
Amanda McKay, Daily Kos
Jack, one of my favorite aspects of my job is supporting progressive candidates up and down the ballot, in all corners of the country.
Daily Kos' broad national reach helps generate thousands of grassroots donations for our candidates, along with a pool of tens of thousands of volunteers, giving them an edge above their GOP competition. Our efforts have had a noticeable impact on the political landscape over the past decade.
Daily Kos is supporting two progressives in Wisconsin and we plan to roll out more endorsements in the coming weeks. We have also started nominee funds for Democratic-leaning House districts and must-win Senate seats in 2024.
Unfortunately, today, I am not writing to you to ask you to support any of these candidates. I am writing to ask you to support Daily Kos.
We are nearly halfway through the month but we are only at 37.5% of our fundraising goal for the month. This isn't what is worrying me. We usually have a boost in fundraising in the second half of the month. What is worrying me is that we are behind our projections for our other streams of revenue; advertising, and list building, in which Democratic and progressive campaigns pay for the opportunity to make their case to our readers. This means that at this moment, we need to rely more and more on our support from the Daily Kos community to make ends meet.
Jack, will you support the work that Daily Kos does day in and day out with a donation of $5 today?

Thanks for all you do,
