Have you heard of Sheriff David Clarke Jr.? In case you haven’t, here’s what you need to know about him

1. He’s a former local elected official in Wisconsin who has touted the most extreme views on reproductive rights, voting rights, crime, immigration, and more. While in office, he encouraged Trump supporters to take up “pitchforks and torches” to fight Democrats and the media and encouraged January 6 insurrectionists not to cooperate with federal authorities.
    
2. After resigning from office, Clarke worked for Donald Trump and Steve Bannon — supporting their work to overturn elections, scam donors in a “build the wall” scheme, and stoke up hate against marginalized communities. He repeatedly spread conspiracy theories and lies — so much so that he was banned from Fox News! 
    
3. He’s considering a run for the U.S. Senate right here in Wisconsin. And based on points 1 and 2, along with everything else we know about him, we have to keep him as far away from the chamber as possible.

Team, David Clarke isn’t just a right-wing talking head — he has some extremely harmful and hateful positions, and we need to take his potential candidacy for the Senate incredibly seriously.
